Announcement of the Department of Information Sciences

The Information Sciences Department of Neapolis University in Cyprus was created in accordance with the provisions of the Cyprus Law on Private Universities. Aim and purpose of the department is the academic excellence through teaching and research in Informatics, Computer Science, Signal and Image processing, Computer Networks and Telecommunications.

The department is developing considerable strengths in the area of Informatics offering a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Applied Informatics that expands over eight (8) semesters and requires the completion of 240 ECTS. Also, it offers a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Systems for those students who aspire to become experts in the field of Information and Communication Technologies. The duration of the MSc degree is four (4) semesters consisting of 120 ECTS.

Both programmes offered by the department, have been evaluated and approved by the Evaluation Committee of Private Universities (ECPU), and recognized by the Council of Recognition of Higher Qualifications (KYSATS).

Aiming the best teaching-learning outcome, lectures will be taught in small groups, at the same time offering personal academic support for each student by a personal Academic Advisor.

To fulfill the objectives of the two programmes, the department operates well-equipped laboratories to facilitate students during their laboratory and other exercises assigned to them.

These programmes offer affordable tuition fees and will provide scholarships to students with high academic performance.
