Faculty Secretarial Staff

Duties & Responsibilities
             

  • Secretarial and Administrative support for faculty members, including extensive diary management.
  • Support with arrangements and preparation of teaching materials using Microsoft Office for teaching.
  • Organization of meetings and travel arrangements for faculty and visiting teaching staff.
  • Processing expense claims for faculty and visiting teaching staff.
  • Arranging small events (meetings, seminars) including room bookings, catering.
  • Undertake or assist in record keeping.
  • Collects and processes data and relevant information on matters assigned to him/her and submit reports to his/her supervisor.
  • Assist in keeping of minutes of the Council, the Senate, School and Department Boards as well as academic committees.
  • Perform any other relevant assignments and/or duties.

Qualifications, skills & attributes

  • Leaving certificate of a recognized secondary Education School
  • Specialized education (Diploma, Degree etc) related to the Secretarial Profession will be considered a definite advantage
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office and internet)
  • Very good knowledge of Greek and English or any other language as specified in the advertisement of the post, depending on the needs of the University
  • At least one year of experience in a relevant post
  • Good secretarial and organizational skills

Student Recruitment Officer

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To assume responsibility and manage the application process for international student applicants at the University.
  • To manage and coordinate the admission process of international students through the Faculty Representative of each School.
  • To produce offers and acceptance letters for international students accepted by each School Faculty
  • To produce and provide all necessary documentation as required for the student immigration visa application in cooperation with the Student Immigration Officer.
  • To maintain appropriate records and manage international agent recruitment activities.
  • To represent the views and interests of international students within the University.
  • To arrange airport pick-up upon first arrival of international student in Cyprus and safe delivery at their apartment including initial assistance with living arrangements.
  • To provide information and program advice in cooperation with the appropriate Faculty Representative relating to courses on offer.
  • To participate in the organisation of Students Union services and activities for international students.
  • To manage the international student social programme which includes initiating, planning, and organising social activities.
  • To ensure that all Students Union services take into consideration the needs of international students but also provide international experiences for all students.
  • To liaise with the Campus Director for international student accommodation purposes, their security and/or special needs consideration as required.
  • To perform any other duties relevant to his/her duties as may be assigned to him/her.

 

 Skills & Attributes Required

  • Actual experience in this field will be rewarded by additional salary increments
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a minimum
  • Mother tongue of one and excellent knowledge of the other in Greek and English – speak, read & write
  • Competence in other languages will be a definite advantage
