Civil engineer (NTUA, 1997), MSc Soil Mechanics (Imperial College, London, 1998), PhD in Geotechnical Engineering (NTUA, 2016).

Working as a geotechnical engineer in Greece since 1998, practically on any kind of geotechnical engineering project, specializing on slope stability and landslide stabilisation. Since 2009 he is the director of the geotechnical laboratory of EDAFOS S.A. which was designed and organized by him. He has worked on projects in Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria.

Teaching assistant for Soil Mechanics I at the department of Civil Engineering at NTUA (2000-2004), instructor of seminars on geotechnical engineering since 2013. Teaches Engineering Geology, Soil Mechanics and Foundations at Neapolis University since 2018.

A member of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Society on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (HSSMGE) since 2008, its Secretary General (2015-2019) and its President since 2019.

Has delivered 5 invited lectures in Greece and Cyprus, written 66 papers in journals and conferences with review, reviewer at 5 international journals and numerous national and international conferences on geotechnical engineering. A member of the Technical Committees of the International Society on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) TC208 “Slope Stability in Engineering Practice” and TC106 “Unsaturated Soils”. As a member of the latter, he bid for Greece to organize the 8th International Conference on Unsaturated Soils on Milos Island, Greece, in 2022, which the TC selected in 2018. He is the Chairman of this Conference.
