Vasilis Kardasis is a Professor of Economic History. He graduated from the Department of Economics of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He awarded his MA (DEA) in Economic History from Universite Paris I, Pantheon-Sorbonne, and his Ph.D. in Economic History from the Department of Political Science of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. From 1987 until today he teaches European and Greek Economic History in the Department of Economics of University of Crete. He also taught as a Visiting Professor in the Department of History of University of Cyprus (2007-2011) and the Hellenic Open University (2005-2006). He served as a vice-rector in University of Crete (2012-2015), and as President of the Administrative Board of the Hellenic Open University (2015-2019). At the same period (2015-2019), he was member of the Rector’s Conference for Greek Universities. He collaborated with the Historical Archive of the National Bank of Greece (1980-1985) and the National Archive of Bank of Cyprus (2010-2012)
