Results of the Cypriot Folklore Contest for Schools

The Folklore Association of “Ktima” Pafos in cooperation with Neapolis University and the Ministry of Education and Culture announce the results of the Cypriot Folklore Contest for Schools. The projects have been classified into thematic units which have been evaluated by three subcommittees consisted by specialists. 250 students by many schools of Cyprus, public and private, took part in the contest. Students have been informed by the headmasters of the schools, while later on all the students will receive a certificate of attendance in the contest. The award ceremony will take place on June 16, 2017 at 19:00 pm at Neapolis University Pafos.

The 10 member of the Committee of the contest are the following:

  1. George Georgis (Professor of Modern Greek History and former ambassador of Cyprus in Greece)
  2. Petros Petrou (Secondary Education Inspector)
  3. Diomedes Markoullis ( Professor of Evolutionary Psychology, Dean of the School of Health Sciences)
  4. Ksenofon Panagi (Philologist, Assistant Director, 1st Unit Coordinator)
  5. Stavros Christodoulou (Historian – Researcher “Neapolis” University, 3rd Unit Coordinator)
  6. Stalo Georgiou (Music Teacher – Musical Composer, “Neapolis” University, 2nd Unit Coordinator)
  7. Calliope Protopapa (Philologist – Researcher)
  8. Vasiliki Hatziadamou (Performer – Presenter)
  9. George Saksiate (Journalist – Musician)
  10. Christakis Papanikolaou (Vice-president of the Folklore Association of “Ktima”)
