Neapolis University Pafos Hosts the Next Pafos Coders & Designers Meetup

29/01 - 29/01 @ 19:00 - 21:00

The Neapolis University Pafos will host the next Pafos Coders & Designers Meetup on Thursday, 29 January 2026, continuing its collaboration with the local Pafos Coders & Designers community and reinforcing its role as an open hub for dialogue between academia, students, and the technology sector.

The meetup will take place from 19:00 to 21:00 (EEST) at the Keryneia Amphitheater on the Neapolis University Pafos campus. It is open to students, academics, developers, designers, and professionals interested in contemporary software development practices and the evolving IT job market.

The event focuses on two key themes that are shaping today’s digital ecosystem: the development of ideas into functional products through low-code and no-code technologies, and a realistic overview of current employment trends in the IT sector.

The first talk, “Low-code / No-code platforms”, will be delivered by George Bishop. The session will present a practical approach to building a minimum viable product using low-code and no-code tools, supported by artificial intelligence and targeted custom development where necessary. The talk highlights alternative development pathways that lower technical barriers while maintaining flexibility and scalability.

The second talk, “An Overview of the IT Job Market: In-Demand Roles from a Developer and Recruiter Perspective”, will be delivered by Antonio Pachón. Drawing on experience both as a software developer and as a recruiter, the presentation offers a grounded analysis of how companies currently evaluate technical roles, which profiles are genuinely in demand, and how hiring needs have shifted in recent years. Roles such as RPA, DevOps, mobile development, and modern frontend frameworks will be examined through real hiring practices rather than market speculation.

Beyond the presentations, the meetup provides space for networking, discussion, and exchange between participants, strengthening the local tech community and encouraging collaboration across disciplines and career stages.

Participation requires prior registration via Meetup at:

If the “Join Waitlist” option appears, registrations are approved shortly by the organisers.

Through initiatives such as the Pafos Coders & Designers Meetup, Neapolis University Pafos continues to support knowledge exchange, innovation, and community engagement within the regional and national technology ecosystem.
