Submission of applications for student grants to families of Greek students and to repatriated families of Cypriot students for the academic year 2024/2025.

The Grants and Benefits Service of the Ministry of Finance awards the State Student Welfare scheme each year, which includes the Student Grant and Student Allowances.

Applications for State Student Welfare are submitted twice per year, depending on the category of eligible applicants:

  • October applications concern students from Greece and repatriated Cypriots.
  • March applications concern permanent residents of the Republic of Cyprus.

OCTOBER STATE STUDENT WELFARE

Eligible Applicants

Students from Greece who studied at academic institutions in Cyprus during the previous academic year and whose families are permanently resident in Greece.

Students from Cyprus whose families have been repatriated and who studied at academic institutions in Cyprus or abroad during the previous academic year.

Required Actions Before Submitting an Application

Parents or legal guardians of students wishing to apply must:

Be registered users of the CY Login electronic service.

Create a CY Login account via the following link:

Repatriated Cypriot applicants must have a verified/authenticated CY Login account.

Greek applicants do not need account verification/authentication.

MARCH STATE STUDENT WELFARE

Eligible Applicants

Permanent residents of the Republic of Cyprus.

Permanent residence means lawful residence in Cyprus for at least 50 months within the last 5 years prior to the commencement of studies.

Who Submits the Application

As a rule, applications are submitted exclusively by the parents or legal guardians of the students.

Required Actions Before Submitting an Application

Parents or legal guardians of students wishing to apply must:

Be registered users of the CY Login electronic service.
