The 19th Annual International Conference on Distributed Computing in Smart Systems and the Internet of Things (DCOSS-IoT 2023) took place in Cyprus, at the Coral Bay near the city of Pafos.
The event was a success with numerous high quality presentations, 13 workshops, and poster, demo and discussion sessions bringing together researchers from all corners of the globe.
The event was kicked off by keynote speeches by Prof. David Kotz (Dartmouth University) on SPLICE: Securing the lifecycle of Smart Homes and by Prof. Andrew Markham (Oxford University) on the Internet of (Wild) Things. Social events gave the opportunity to participants to get a glimps of Pafos town historical sites.
Pafos, the birthplace of Aphrodite and once the capital of Cyprus has recenlty been selcted as the European Capital of Culture in 2017 and the European Capital of Smart Tourism for 2023.
Sponsors of the event included Neapolis University Pafos, the IoTLab of Patras University, IEEE Computer Society, and the Technology Innovation Institude (TII) of Abu Dhabi which will also host next year’s event.
