The Conference for the Importance of Protecting and Promoting Cultural Heritage Organized by the Pafos Municipality and the Law School of Neapolis University Pafos was a Great Success.

On Saturday, October 7, at the “En Plo” Hall in Paphos Harbor, the Paphos Municipality and Neapolis University Law School co-organized with great success a very timely and important event, aimed at raising the public’s awareness of the need for the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage. The event was based on the example of Byzantine art as a source of inspiration for cultural goods and as a specific display of life that signifies every aspect of human existence. Within the event’s framework there was a workshop by Christine Landale Willis on Byzantine Pottery Techniques.

Paphos Mayor Mr. Phaedon Phaedon and the President of the Law School of NEAPOLIS University Pafos, Professor Konstantinos G. Athanasopoulos addressed the meeting. Coordinator of the event was Mr. Thomas-Nektarios Papanastasiou, Assistant Professor at the Law School of Neapolis University Paphos, who opened the conference with his introductory remarks on the importance of cultural heritage.

With their speeches and interventions, the well-known Academics Anastasia Grammatikaki-Alexiou, Emeritus Professor of Law at AUTh, Visiting Professor at Neapolis Law School, George Martzelos, Emeritus Professor of Theology AUTh, Director of the Theology Postgraduate Program at Neapolis, Stavros Photiou, Professor of the Department of Education Sciences of the University of Cyprus, Konstantinos Karatsolis, Scientific Associate at the Neapolis University Law School, as well as the ceramic pottery artist Christine Landale Willis, each approached the subject in a unique way and based on their own individual scientific expertise.
