Cooperation of Pafos2017 and the University for the renovation of the Archaeological Museum in Paphos

Students of the Department Landscape Architecture of Neapolis University Pafos, led by Associate Professor and Director of European and Research Programs Dr. Julia Georges, visited the Archaeological Museum of Paphos.
The visit took place following an invitation of Pafos2017, under the coordination of the Department of Antiquities to renovate the museum, in site of Paphos becoming the European Capital of Culture in 2017.
The Neapolis University in Cyprus took the initiative to develop concrete design proposals for the Museum’s garden, following similar design proposals submitted by Pafos2017 for the interior renovation.
Through these proposals, it was attempt to promote the Museum, both interior and exterior spaces, so as to offer the visitor the opportunity to enjoy a real cultural experience within a comfortable and functional environment.
The Department of Landscape Architecture of the Neapolis University undertook recently the redesigning and reconstruction of the gardens of the Theological School of Halki, which adds a valuable experience in the attempted effort to renovate the landscape of the Archaeological Museum of our city.
