The 19th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS 2017) took place in Porto, Portugal from 26th to 29th of April 2017 in collaboration with the scientific Institute INSTICC (Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication).
The purpose of the 19th International Conference on Enterprise Information Systems (ICEIS) is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the advances and business applications of Information Systems. Six simultaneous tracks were held, covering different aspects of Enterprise Information Systems Applications, including Enterprise Database Technology, Systems Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Analysis and Specification, Internet Computing, Electronic Commerce, Human Factors and Enterprise Architectures.
Participation of Neapolis University to the Conference
Neapolis University in Cyprus participated to the Conference and Panel discussions with Lecturer Dr Klitos Christodoulou of the Department of Informatics. Dr. Christodoulou presented research results aimed at creating algorithms and a methodology for deriving smart recommendations and decisions for improving the shopping experience of users, under the the title “A Real-Time Targeted Recommender System for Supermarkets”. The presented paper discussed a methodology on a Collaborative Filtering Recommended System that utilises iBeacon technology to make real-time personalised recommendations of products to users according to their personal preferences.
More than hundred researchers participated in the Conference from more than 16 countries.
