On Friday 10.10.2014 the Neapolis University in Cyprus in cooperation with the biotechnology company Lifebank organized a lecture for the General Health System (GHS) with main speaker the former Health Minister Dr. Stavros Malas. The lecture was supported by the private hospitals in Paphos, Iasis, Evangelismos, St George and Blue Cross. Speeches where held from prof. Spiros Vliamos, Dean of the School of Science and Management, of the University and Panagiotis A. Vorkas, Director-General Lifebank. The coordination was undertaken by Dr. Stephen Pavlidis director of lab Stefanos Pavlidis.

The lecture was attended by many professionals in the health sector as well as academics. Dr. Malas analysed with very comprehensive manner all aspects of GHS and developed the risks posed by the transformation of hospitals into semi-governmental organizations. The lecture was followed by a active discussion with the attendees through questions which Dr. Stavros Malas answered.
