Pittsburgh University Students Visit Pafos Municipality

Pittsburgh University Students participating in the 2019 Pitt in Cyprus at Neapolis University in Cyprus Summer Program were received by the Mayor of Pafos, Mr. Phedonas Phedonos on Thursday, 27 May 2019, at the Municipal Building.  Students were accompanied by their Professor Mike Epitropoulos and Neapolis University Campus Director Mr. Andreas Charalambous on the visit.
Mayor Phaidonos gave a brief overview of the major issues facing the municipality, emphasizing the issues of development, technology, tourism, culture and the attempt of the Municipality to create employment opportunities for young graduates.

Students had the opportunity to question the Mayor on his priorities concerning infrastructure, open spaces, green areas, zoning and public safety .

Administrative Officer, Mr. Giannis Anthis also informed the group about the experience gained from participating in the competition for and successful organization and hosting of Pafos 2017 Cultural Capital City of Europe.
