On May 15th, 2025, in Tirana, Albania, Neapolis University Pafos and Western Balkans University signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking the beginning of a strategic academic partnership between the two institutions. The agreement was signed by Prof. Pantelis Sklias, Rector of Neapolis University Pafos, and Prof. Ferdinand Gjana, President of Western Balkans University.
The Memorandum sets out a broad framework for collaboration in key academic and scientific fields. It includes the development of joint academic programs, student and staff exchanges, co-organization of conferences and academic events, participation in externally funded projects—including EU-funded initiatives—as well as the creation of double-degree programs and support for innovation and start-up activities.
This collaboration strengthens the international presence of Neapolis University Pafos and aligns with its strategic vision of fostering outward-looking partnerships and promoting academic excellence through international cooperation. The University’s leadership emphasises the importance of building global academic networks that foster scientific research, innovation, and educational mobility, while also enhancing intercultural understanding and exchange.
