Teachers of the Secondary Education are being trained to identifying bullying at Neapolis University

Teachers of the Secondary Education meet in in the auditorium of the Neapolis University in Cyprus, on October 21, 2014 to learn about a key problem plaguing schools today, bullying. This seminar was held as an action of the Comenius Regio Partnership program, a collaboration of educational institutions in Athena and Paphos. The event was introduced by Mr. John Efthimiou, officer of ME Paphos, inviting teachers to diligently take the role as members of the Intervention Group on intimidation and violence at their schools.
The training was conducted by Dr. Olga Solomon Koundouri, Lecturer, of the Neapolis University in the Department of Psychology. The seminar held in a workshop and included clarifying the definitions of violence, aggression and bullying, forms of bullying, intimidation mechanisms, recognition of roles in an incident, as well as key components of a successful intervention. Teachers had the opportunity to share their experiences, discuss events, take part in the debate and express questions and concerns. Because of the increased interest, the seminar was extended and followed by the second part of the training, which was the training in how to deal with this incidents.
