The prominent Japanese anthropologist, Dr. Yasushi Kikuchi visited on the 13/06/2014 the Neapolis University in Cyprus. Professor Kikuchi is an emeritus professor of one of the largest private universities in Japan, the Waseda University in Tokyo and also teaches social anthropology at the United Nations University in Tokyo. The lecture given by Prof. Kikuchi, he analysed the role of social behaviour and the system of values in Japan and also developed the basic differences between Japanese culture and Western social standards. The Professor noted the modern applications of anthropology in Japan and the role of tradition and values of each country in the current era of globalization. The event was moderated by a lecturer of the Law School of the Neapolis University in Cyprus, Mr. Thomas Papanastasiou, how made his PhD in the Waseda University in Tokyo.
