The School of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences of the Neapolis University in Cyprus wanting to activate emerging expressions located at the crossroads of architecture and art and to initiate a public debate around the issues that affect and concern in our built environment. Together with the Cultural Movement Ex-Artis on March 26, 2014 held a lecture by Dr. Nikola Bakirtzi, Architecture and Art History and Assistant Professor at the Center for Science and Technology in Archaeology Institute of Cyprus. The lecture handled the topic of Architecture and began a dialogue around art and history in Cyprus in a unique way. Followed by an interesting discussion of the dialectical relationship of Art, Architecture and social landscape of Cyprus – a relationship of dynamics. Dr. Bakirtzis scenographic emphasized on the role of art architecture with visual artistic representations (paintings, drawings, gravure and photos) in Cyprus and daily life on the island and highlighted the ways in which the representation of architecture first designated historic and natural space and also shaped the artistic and interpretative perception of cultural identity and heritage in Cyprus. The event was greeted by the painter Rinos Stefani, on behalf of the Movement Ex-Artis and Architecture Lecturer Dr. George Artopoulos on behalf of Neapolis University.
