“Desert Age: A Rock and Roll Scene History” was screened to a sold out crowd of 300 at the opening night ceremony for the 2018 Gimme Shelter Film Festival in Athens Greece. The documentary film was produced and directed by Neapolis University in Cyprus Assistant Professor and Digital Video Production program Director, Mr. Jason Georgiades. The film is about the early rock and roll history of the California desert area and includes interviews by rock legends Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) and Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). Mr. Georgiades was in attendance at the Gagarin Live venue following the screening for a question and answer period with co-festival founders Dimitris Papandreou and Marina Danezi. Closing the night festivities was a live acoustic performance by the legendary band Night Stalker.
