Prior to joining Neapolis University, she was an elected Associate Professor in Computing and Information Systems at the University of Greenwich, London, an institution she joined in 2011. She holds a PhD in Information Systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), an MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems (LSE), a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education from the University of Greenwich, and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus. Her postdoctoral research, conducted as part of a collaboration between the University of Oxford, University College London (UCL), and LSE, examined how physical scientists collaborate and manage data within evolving digital infrastructures.
With over 14 years of experience in higher education in both the UK (University of Greenwich and LSE) and Cyprus (Philips University and Neapolis University), her research is grounded in the relationship between digital technologies, digital innovation, management, and organizational practice. Her earlier and ongoing qualitative research includes studies on agile innovation and organizational agility, globally distributed digital infrastructure development and governance, inter-organizational and virtual collaborations, communities of practice, and collaborative work practices critically examining how these practices must be reconfigured in the face of changing technologies and increasingly networked, virtual, and global business environments. In recent years, her research agenda has evolved to focus on digital transformation and AI-enabled systems, with particular emphasis on AI adoption and organizational readiness, AI-driven trust and transparency, equity-aware design, and human-centered AI interaction in both education and business contexts. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.
Alongside her research, Dr Kyriakidou-Zacharoudiou has a deep and sustained involvement in academic leadership and management. She has held senior management roles including Employability and Placements Coordinator, Quality Assurance and Academic Conduct Coordinator, and Programme Coordinator at both institutional and departmental levels.
