Neapolis University Pafos Hosts Cloud-Focused Pafos Coders & Designers March Meetup

26/03 - 26/03 @ 19:00 - 21:00

The Neapolis University Pafos will host the next Pafos Coders & Designers Meetup on Thursday, 26 March 2026, in collaboration with the local Pafos Coders & Designers community, continuing its engagement with the regional technology ecosystem and its support for open, practice-oriented learning.

The meetup will take place from 19:00 to 21:00 (EEST) at the Keryneia Amphitheatre on the Neapolis University Pafos campus and is open to students, academics, developers, designers, and professionals interested in contemporary cloud technologies and system performance.

This edition focuses on cloud infrastructure, resilience, and performance, addressing both the architectural realities of cloud environments and the practical tools used to ensure system reliability under pressure.

The first talk, “Your Cloud Region Will Fail. Are You Ready?”, will be delivered by Eran / John Greenbaum. The session examines why regional outages remain an inherent risk in cloud environments and what this means for production systems that rely on single-region architectures. It will explore Disaster Recovery in practical terms, including how to define realistic RTO and RPO targets, the four core Disaster Recovery strategy models, common assumptions that fail during real outages, and approaches to designing effective multi-region resilience.

The second talk, “Load Testing APIs Without the Pain: A Practical Approach with Artillery”, will be delivered by Alla Nikolaeva. Drawing on hands-on experience, the session presents a streamlined approach to API load testing using Artillery, demonstrating how developers can simulate realistic traffic, generate dynamic test data, and identify system bottlenecks without complex infrastructure. The talk highlights how performance testing can be integrated into everyday development workflows to ensure system stability.

Beyond the presentations, the meetup provides an opportunity for networking and exchange among participants, strengthening connections between academia and the local technology community.
