Neapolis University Pafos (NUP) will host the next Pafos Coders & Designers Meetup on Thursday, 23 July 2026, in collaboration with the local Pafos Coders & Designers community. The event marks the 15th anniversary of Kotlin, bringing together students, academics, developers, designers, and technology professionals for an evening dedicated to one of the world’s leading modern programming languages.
The meetup will take place from 19:00 to 21:00 (EEST) at the Ammochostos Amphitheatre on the Neapolis University Pafos campus.
The featured presentation, “Where Kotlin Multiplatform Stops: Practical Architecture for Real Products,” will be delivered by Pavel Pristalov, a Staff Engineer with nearly two decades of experience designing software architectures for organisations ranging from startups to multinational companies.
The session will explore practical architectural approaches for Kotlin Multiplatform development, examining how shared business logic and native user interfaces can be combined to build scalable mobile applications, as well as how Compose Multiplatform enables rapid development across mobile, desktop, and backend environments. Participants will also gain insights into defining the appropriate boundaries for shared code, exposing business logic effectively, avoiding common architectural pitfalls, and addressing the practical challenges of adopting Kotlin Multiplatform in production systems.
Beyond the technical presentation, the meetup will provide opportunities for networking and discussion, encouraging collaboration between the academic community and professionals from the local technology sector while celebrating Kotlin’s contribution to modern software development over the past fifteen years.
