Neapolis University Pafos Hosts Pafos Programming Camp 2026

73 participants from 19 universities gather in Pafos for one of the leading international training camps in competitive programming

Neapolis University Pafos is hosting Pafos Camp 2026 from 19 August, bringing together 73 participants from 19 universities in Pafos. The event focuses on competitive programming, algorithms, and complex problem solving, and serves as an international training camp for students and teams preparing for leading programming competitions, including the ICPC Regional and World Finals.

Teams from universities including the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Delft University of Technology, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Charles University, Hasso Plattner Institute, Utrecht University, University of Warsaw, University of Wroclaw, Eötvös Loránd University, University of Belgrade, Nazarbayev University, Constructor University, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, and Neapolis University Pafos are taking part in the camp. The programme includes daily training, algorithmic exercises, problem analysis, team-based problem solving, and upsolving sessions.

As part of the camp, the Pafos Cup 2026 was held on 24 August. The first place was won by Segfault go BRRR from Delft University of Technology, followed by Infinite Loopers from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in second place and HKOI-1 from the University of Oxford in third place. UAIC TheOnesWhoKnock from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași finished fourth, Snack Underflow from Aarhus University fifth, while the Ω team from Neapolis University Pafos took sixth place.

Following the competition, an award ceremony was held in the presence of representatives of the state, local government, and the business community.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Stavros Tsiakouris, Senior Officer at the Directorate of Digital Policy and Communications of the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the Acting Mayor of Pafos, Mr. Angelos Onisiforou, Member of Parliament Ms. Nikoleta Konstantinou, President of the Public Gas Corporation Mr. Giorgos Pistentes, and General Manager of Leptos Group Mr. Paris Gabriel.

The Municipality of Geroskipou also supported the organisation by providing facilities for the participants’ sports activities.

Pafos Camp 2026 is hosted at the facilities of Neapolis University Pafos with the support of the JetBrains Foundation, bringing students from universities in different countries to Pafos and creating an international academic environment focused on computer science. The event forms part of the cooperation between Neapolis University Pafos and the JetBrains Foundation and strengthens the University’s international academic connections in the field of computer science.
