He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Cyprus (2017–2021), with a dissertation on a novel Distributed Artificial Intelligence framework with Machine Learning for 5G/6G communication, and also holds an M.Sc. in Security and Defense from the Open University of Cyprus (2016) and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Cyprus (2005). His industry experience includes Software Developer at PrimeTel (2013–2018) and IT & Programmer at the Cyprus Stock Exchange (2008–2013), while he currently also serves as Infrastructure & Systems Architect at Areté Strategy AI. His research focuses on 5G/6G and beyond wireless networks, Distributed Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning for network optimisation and control, IoT security and intrusion detection, federated learning, D2D communication, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS), localization, smart grid and mini-grid management and edge/fog computing. He is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Neapolis University Pafos (2026–Present), a Senior Researcher at the CYENS Centre of Excellence (2018–Present), a Researcher at GÉANT Europe (2018–Present) and a Scientific Collaborator of the Networks Research Laboratory (NETRL) at the University of Cyprus, having previously served as an Assistant Professor at Philips University (2026) and at European University Cyprus (2025–2026).

With a publication record exceeding 130 papers, including more than 35 peer-reviewed journal articles (24 of them in Scimago Q1 journals), and nearly 1,000 citations on Google Scholar (h-index 15), his research output includes the book “Distributed Artificial Intelligence for 5G/6G Communications” (CRC Press, 2024), the book chapter “Federated Learning at the Edge: Enabling AI in 5G/6G Networks and Massive IoT” (IntechOpen, 2026) and articles in leading venues such as the IEEE Internet of Things Journal, the IEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, the IEEE Systems Journal, Computer Networks and Computer Communications, while his research projects include the EU Horizon projects ADROIT6G and METACITIES, the GÉANT GN5-2 activities, Cybersafe Cyprus and the National CSIRT-CTIP System. An IEEE Senior Member, he serves as Associate Editor for IEEE Networking Letters and the International Journal of Antennas and Propagation (Wiley), served as TPC Chair for AsianComNet 2024 and 2025, IFIP Networking 2025, the ISIoT Workshop at DCOSS-IoT 2026 and IConAECC 2026 and as Workshop Chair of XAIoT 2026 and ISIoT 2026 in Reykjavik, Iceland, has delivered keynotes at ICRISET 2022 and 2023, CEII 2022, WiSPNET 2024, AsianComNet 2024 and 2025 and ICCSS 2025 and has reviewed more than 800 papers for major IEEE conferences and journals. He also has extensive teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level at Philips University, European University Cyprus, the University of Cyprus, UCLAN Cyprus, the American University of Cyprus and Ledra College, with courses spanning Human-Computer Interaction, Systems Analysis and Design, Data Visualisation, Information Security, IoT, Wireless and Mobile Networks, Advanced Databases and Java programming, along with supervision of BSc and MSc theses at the University of Cyprus.
