The Department of Psychology of Neapolis University Pafos  organizes a joined event with Dr Achilleas Pavlou, Lecturer in the Department of Psychology of the University of Nicosia, and Dr Tania Garcia, researcher in the research centre CYENS.

The event will take place on the 9th of May at 18:00, at the University’s auditorium.Each talk will last around 30 minutes and there will be time for a discussion afterwards.

This afternoon, filled with rich methodological innovations and theoretical discussions in Psychology, will give students the unique opportunity to meet distinguished researchers in the field and be inspired from their work. The talk is open to students and staff of the university as well as people who are interested in hearing more about the topics in question.

Dr Pavlou will talk about The Science of Lucid Dreaming: Exploring Phenomenology, Neurophysiology, Applications, and Induction Techniques: In this talk, we will delve into the fascinating world of lucid dreaming research. Lucid dreaming (LD) is an unusual sleep phenomenon whereby the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming and can actively influence their dream experiences. We will examine the distinct phenomenological and neurophysiological characteristics of LD, discuss its potential applications, and explore the diverse techniques employed to induce such dreams.

Dr Garcia will talk about The Role of cognitive neuroscience and psychology in the Advancement of Emerging technologies: The talk will explore the role of cognitive neuroscience and psychology in advancing emerging technologies such as eye-tracking, biofeedback, neurofeedback, and virtual reality (VR). These technologies have significant potential to improve mental health outcomes and enhance psychological interventions.
