Dr. Christos N. Christodoulou-Volos is Professor of Macroeconometrics and Financial Economics and currently serves as Head of the Department of Economics and Business. He holds an MA in Economics from the City College of the City University of New York (CUNY), as well as an MPhil and a PhD in Economics (1997) from the CUNY Graduate School.
His primary areas of specialization are Macroeconometrics, Monetary Economics, and Financial Economics. His teaching portfolio encompasses microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial economics, statistics, and econometrics, and he has taught at several universities internationally.
Dr. Christodoulou-Volos has an extensive publication record in leading peer-reviewed academic journals. His current research focuses broadly on empirical macroeconomics and financial economics, with particular emphasis on the pricing and hedging of financial assets, decision-making under uncertainty, and the application of advanced econometric methodologies. These include univariate and multivariate GARCH models, FIGARCH models, and correlated unobserved components models. His work also examines the effects of temporal aggregation on the reliability of econometric inference and contributes to the development of narrative macroeconomics.
In addition to his academic career, he has held several senior managerial positions in the United States, including roles as a senior economist for a trade association and as an economist in a financial firm specializing in litigation economics.
