Dr. Ifigenia Efthimiou holds a PhD degree with honors from the Department of Mathematics of the University of the Aegean, Samos, in the field of “Design and Analysis of Experiments“. She holds a master’s degree from the Department of Statistics and Actuarial – Financial Mathematics in the field of “Statistics and Data Analysis” and a bachelor’s degree from the Department of Statistics and Actuarial – Financial Mathematics of the same University. In recognition of her outstanding work during her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, she received two scholarships from the Hellenic State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) for her excellent performance and another scholarship from the Postgraduate Program “Statistics and Data Analysis” of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial – Financial Mathematics, School of Sciences, University of the Aegean, Samos, as the first in her department.
She is a Visiting Lecturer in the field of Statistics and Mathematics at Neapolis University of Paphos, Department of Computer Science, School of Economics, Management and Information Technology.
Dr. Efthimiou has extensive teaching academic experience in both public and private universities. In the past, she worked at the Cyprus University of Technology as a Special Scientist in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering as well as in the Department of Commerce, Finance and Shipping. She also worked at the University of Cyprus as a Special Scientist in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
In addition, her work experience includes Teaching Assistant at the University of the Aegean in Samos, Assistant Professor at the American College, at the CDA College of Paphos and Limassol and Lecturer at Ctl Eurocollege where she taught courses such as Statistics I, Statistics II, Linear Algebra, Research Methods, Introduction to Mathematics, Discrete Mathematics, Numerical Analysis, Calculus I and II etc.
Dr. Efthimiou’s research interests are broadened in the areas of Experimental Designs, Factorial Designs, Computer Experiments, Construction of Latin Hypercube Designs and Near Orthogonal Latin Hypercube Designs, Construction and Study of Saturated and Supersaturated Designs, Methods of Data Collection and Statistical Analysis, Quantitative and Qualitative Research Methods and generally in Statistical Inference and Parameter Estimation.
Dr. Ifigenia Efthimiou is a regular member of the Hellenic Statistical Institute (ESI). She participated and presented papers in various scientific conferences and presented a “poster” at the Department of Statistics, University of Georgia (USA). In addition, she has published articles in very important international journals such as Statistica Sinica and Metrica.
