May 27, 2025

Neapolis University Pafos hosted the 5th consortium meeting of the Erasmus+ project “reZEB: Fostering Renewable Energy Technologies and Energy Efficiency Knowledge towards Near Zero Energy Buildings for engineers and professionals in Western Balkan countries,” on 19–20 May 2025.

The project is implemented within the Erasmus+ programme and involves a partnership between the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), University eCampus (Italy), Neapolis University Pafos (Cyprus), and five Higher Education and VET institutions from the Western Balkans: European University of Tirana, Polis University, Professional College of Tirana (Albania), Universum College, and International Business College Mitrovica (Kosovo). Neapolis University Pafos team was represented by Dr Natia Anastasi, Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, with the participation of Dr Evanthia Dova, Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences.

The reZEB project aims to modernise curricula related to energy performance and the implementation of efficient energy systems in buildings, through the contribution of EU academic institutions and collaboration with engineering professionals. It introduces new tools, methodologies, and pedagogical approaches to higher education, while strengthening existing ones. The project updates and develops modules on renewable energy and energy efficiency.

In addition, the project promotes industry and community collaboration through workshops, online courses, student internships, and joint research and industrial initiatives. The meeting in Pafos focused on project management and course evaluation, as well as cooperation with the private sector through student placements, training seminars, and outreach events. The event concluded with an online seminar on patent development, led by Visiting Professor Dr Georgios A. Dafoulas.
