AWARD FOR APPLIED RESEARCH, EXCELLENCE OF KNOWLEDGE AND CONTRIBUTION FOR THE COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT’S INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS LABORATORY

On Wednesday, 7^th October 2020, the Cyprus Education Leaders Awards ceremony was held for the second year by Boussias Communications with the kind support of the DIAS Publishing House.

The “Cyprus Education Leaders Awards” is a pioneering institution, which highlights and awards the remarkable work of educators at all levels of education and is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the Cyprus Youth Organisation, the Pancyprian Organisation of Greek Teachers (POED), the Organisation of Greek Secondary Education Providers (OELMEK), the Organisation of Technical Education Providers (OELTEK), the Association of Private Schools of Cyprus and the Cyprus Computer Society.

Neapolis University Pafos took part in the competition process with the Intelligent Systems Laboratory of the University’s Computer Science Department, whose participation received the highest distinction from the institution’s evaluation committee in the Higher Education category “Investment in the field of Education in Computer Science”.

For many years, the University’s Intelligent Systems Laboratory has provided practical support to students, who choose educational robotics as a creative pastime, as it has been recognised by tutors, professors, parents and students as an important factor in the cultivation and development of computer science skills.

The Intelligent Systems Laboratory is staffed by distinguished academic scientists-members of the academic community of Neapolis University Pafos, who through their original and intensive research activity aim towards producing highly prestigious scientific publications, creating new applied knowledge of excellence and applying it for the improvement of the educational process and the strengthening of the wider educational community’s skills.
