On April 30, 2014 in the presence of the Director of the Department of Environment Kostas Hatzipanagiotou, Deputy Director of the Forestry Department, members parliament of the Paphos and public, the Environmental Information Centre in Episkopi was inaugurated. The opening ceremony was officiated by the Bishop of Paphos Georgios. Mr. Hatzipanagiotou who read out the speech of the Minister of Agriculture steding the importance of adopting environmental awareness among citizens, but also the necessity of creating Centres for Environmental Education to shap the environmental awareness. The investment in the protection of the natural environment is one way to improve, and upgrade our quality of life. The Neapolis University in Cyprus was represented by Dr. Julia Georgi, Assoc. Professor of Landscape Architecture and Directorof European and Research Programs. A documentary presentation and a tour of the Environment Centre followed.
Mrs. Georgi attended also tree planting organized by the Paphos Municipality on the same day, in the Europa Avenue, near the University. The Paphos Mayor Savvas Vergas welcomed, the participation of the University in the event and activities of the municipality.
