MA programme in Digital Video Production signs MoU with SAE Institute School of Creative Media of the LTUC

October 23, 2019

A formal academic agreement was signed between Neapolis University in Cyprus, MA in Digital Video Production programme and the SAE Institute School of Creative Media of the Luminus Technology University College, earlier this week. The memorandum of understanding guarantees the exchange of students and staff between the two cinema schools.

The progressive, state of the art media school located in the heart of Amman is known for providing graduates with training and internships on major Hollywood productions filmed in Jordan such as: “X-Men Apocalypse”, “Aladdin” and most recently “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”.

SAE Institute Amman academic coordinator Muhannad Al Dasuqi stated: “The Digital Video Production at Neapolis University in Cyprus is a great postgraduate programme that will offer excellent hands-on film practice and open up many job opportunities after graduation for its students and our graduates from Amman will be thrilled to join in”.

The international MA in Digital Video Production programme opens the door to any student seeking an opportunity to write, direct and produce their own films in Cyprus or the greater European and Middle East areas. Students have the option to travel outside of Cyprus to complete their final films if they choose. Recent graduates of the program have created animation, documentary and narrative short films. In addition, students are eligible for prestigious “work placement” programmes which connect students to paying jobs with legitimate production companies all over Cyprus.

“The Digital Video Production program is defined by artistic growth through international diversity and connections with elite programs like SAE ISCM. We share the same vision. We want to provide our students with rich academic experiences while connecting them with jobs in the international marketplace” (Jason Georgiades, Director, MA in DVP)

The academic partnership between both schools aims to strengthen the already significant bond between the two countries that share many cultural similarities. Both schools can now provide a home for students and academics to work, exchange and grow together through a shared passion for cinema.

The agreement was made possible due to the positive role of Jordanian former Minister of Culture Mr. Jeyes Samawi, and was coordinated on behalf of Neapolis University by: Programme Director Jason Georgiades, Programme Coordinator Dr. Charalambos Charalambous.
