As a sign of honor for the late deceased former Cypriot President Glafcos Clerides the Neapolis University in Cyprus suspended classes of all students on 11/19/2013. In addition, the University organized a special event at 10:30 am in the Auditorium, in which a minute of silence in memory of the deceased was held . Professor K. GIs. Athanasopoulos referred to the personality and the work of the former President Glafcos Clerides and also the big contribution to the Republic of Cyprus. It was noted in particular that “Cyprus has lost a great leader. Glafkos Clerides was a pure fighter and a noble statesman, with wisdom and courage and insight in all the struggles of Hellenism. The presence of Glafkos Clerides will be missed”. The Neapolis University in Cyprus expresses its deep sorrow and emotion for the death of Glafcos Clerides and send sincere condolences to his family.
