Visit of the Ambassador and Consul of the Hellenic Republic

On Tuesday 23.11.2021, at 12.00 p.m. a meeting was held at Neapolis University Pafos between the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou, the Consul General Mrs. Athena Papageorgiou and the Rectorate and Administration of the University, represented by Mr. George Leptos, Chairman of the Board, Prof. Pantelis Sklias, Rector and Mr. Andreas Moleskis, Director of Administration and Finance.

During the visit of the representatives of the Hellenic Republic in the Republic of Cyprus, the University authorities were given the opportunity to inform them regarding the more than ten years of diverse and multifaceted activity and contribution of Neapolis University Pafos to the academic community as well as the local and national community of the Republic of Cyprus.

Special mention was made of the strengthening of research activity and the production of new innovative applied knowledge through participation in international research programmes with the scientific community and collaborations with important scientific, academic and professional bodies and continuous contribution to the scientific dialogue in the area of Higher Education.

There was also extensive briefing on the development effort and prospects of Neapolis University Pafos with the aim of connecting the Curricula and its student community with the labour market, adapting to the new conditions of the 4th Industrial Revolution and pioneering at the forefront of knowledge with existing, but also new fields of study and Curricula, through the establishment and operation of the Neapolis Eco Smart City.

Finally, they were informed about the joint effort and objective of the academic and political authorities of the Republic of Cyprus and the Hellenic Republic, so that the Greek and Cypriot Universities within the Single European Academic Area, become pillars of quality development and academic excellence, jointly claiming pioneering innovation and research on the map of Higher Education.
