Neapolis University Pafos hosts EMERGE International Seminars on Micro-credentials, Lifelong Learning and Multilingualism

October 15, 2025

Neapolis University Pafos will host, from 21 to 23 October 2025, the joint meetings of Work Package 5 (Flexible Lifelong Learning for Adults) and Work Package 7 (Multilingualism and Intercomprehension) of the EMERGE European University Alliance. The three-day event will bring together academics, researchers, and project coordinators from the nine partner universities of EMERGE to advance key objectives in adult education and linguistic inclusion across Europe’s regional higher education institutions.

Through collaborative workshops and discussions, participants will exchange expertise on flexible learning pathways, the design of micro-credentials for adult learners, and strategies for enhancing linguistic diversity within higher education. The meetings form part of EMERGE’s broader mission to create a more inclusive, sustainable, and interconnected European university landscape that reflects the linguistic and cultural richness of its regions.

The sessions will focus on developing common pedagogical frameworks and promoting shared initiatives that support adult learners and underrepresented groups in accessing higher education. The discussions will also explore how multilingualism and intercomprehension can strengthen collaboration and mutual understanding among students, academics, and staff across EMERGE universities.

The last day of the Work Package 5 meeting, titled “Beyond the Alliance: Micro-credentials – Best Practices from Around the World”, will be open to external participants interested in the topic of lifelong learning and flexible education. International experts will share global experiences in the implementation and recognition of micro-credentials, providing insights applicable to European contexts.

These seminars underscore the role of Neapolis University Pafos as a committed partner in the EMERGE Alliance and its continuous contribution to fostering innovation, inclusion, and collaboration across European higher education.
