Neapolis University Pafos ranks among the top 7% of higher education institutions worldwide in the Webometrics 2025 ranking

August 29, 2025

Neapolis University Pafos has achieved yet another significant distinction, ranking 2,337th in the July 2025 Webometrics international ranking, out of approximately 32,000 higher education institutions worldwide. This achievement places Neapolis University Pafos among the top 7% of universities globally, confirming the dynamism and growth of a young institution that has managed to gain international recognition and prestige within a short period of time.

Neapolis’ progress is remarkable: from 11,529th place in 2015 to 2,337th today, climbing nearly 9,200 places in a single decade—an accomplishment achieved by very few institutions worldwide. This continuous rise is not a matter of chance but the result of strategic planning, systematic investment in research, the quality of studies, and outward-looking initiatives.

The Rector of Neapolis University Pafos, Professor Pantelis Sklias, stated:

“As a very young university, only 15 years old, our steady rise in international rankings is proof that with vision, cooperation, and consistency, we can achieve a great deal. We do not view rankings as an end in themselves, but as a reflection of the quality of our work and its impact on students, society, and Cyprus. Our intensive and systematic efforts will continue, and we are confident that we will climb even higher in the coming years.”

The Webometrics ranking evaluates the visibility, excellence, and impact of universities worldwide. For Neapolis University Pafos, this latest distinction serves as a strong motivation to continue its upward trajectory and further strengthen its role as a pillar of knowledge, innovation, and social contribution.
