Presentation at the Conference of the Technical University of Athens: The Pedagogy of Architecture: themes and perspectives, under the title: “Two and a half design/ built workshops: experiments and experiences”.
Assistant Prof. Dr. Julia Georgi, Head of the Department of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences participated in the Conference “The Pedagogy of Architecture: themes and perspectives” held in Athens on Nov. 3rd-5th 2017, on the occasion of the Centennial of the Architecture School of the Technical University of Athens.
Dr. Georgi presented the paper “Two and a half design/ built workshops: experiments and experiences”, written in collaboration with Evanthia Dova and Angeliki Sivitanidou, Lecturers in Architecture, Neapolis University in Cyprus. The paper presents the design/ build workshops organized by the three faculty members in cooperation with the students in the programs of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, as alternative teaching methods, and explores their results and their educational advantages. A constructive discussion followed the presentation.
Participating in the conference were all the Schools of Architecture in Greece; an interesting round-table discussion with representatives from all of them also took place.
