A weekend full of chess activities is just over. On Saturday afternoon a team blitz tournament was held at Kennedy Square in the town center.
On Sunday, a fide rated rapid tournament was hosted at Neapolis University Pafos, as a result of the close collaboration with Pafos Chess Club.
The tournament was highly competitive. Marios Savva of Pafos Chess Club was ranked first, followed by WFM Marina Cherkasova also of Pafos Chess Club in the second place. The third place was won by the student Neapolis University Pafos Michail Goncharov. Trophies were also awarded to the winners of the age categories Under 16 and Under 12.
At the award ceremony, the President of Pafos Chess Club Giorgos Antoniou thanked Mrs. Christiana Georgiadi of Neapolis University Pafos for the warm hospitality.
