Open Event and Colloquium for youth unemployment and policies to address it

YOUTHshare project organizes a two-days Open Event and Colloquium on youth unemployment and policies addressing it, to mark its 4 years of implementation. The Open Event and Colloquium will take place on Friday November 4th and Saturday November 5th 2022, at St Catherine’s Hospice, in the Medieval Town of Rhodes, and will also be accessible online.

Specifically:

 

• On Friday November 4th, guest speakers will present research projects funded by EEA and Norway’s Fund for Youth Employment.
• On Saturday November 5^th academics, researchers and practitioners will present their scientific work. Next, the documentary “NEET” will premiere, which was developed in the framework of the YOUTHShare project and follows the course of young beneficiaries of the project.

 

The YOUTHShare project, being funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment, researches the dimensions of youth unemployment in insular and coastal areas of the Mediterranean and identifies the impact of the implemented policies at regional level. At the same time it implements an innovative program for the re-activation of youth Not in Employment, Education or Training in the labour market.

 

Principal Investigator of the YOUTHShare Project is the Associate Professor Dr. Stelios Gialis from the University of the Aegean. Neapolis University Pafos participates to the project under the coordination of Associate Professor Dr. Ioannis Pissourios.
