EMERGE European University Alliance

Neapolis University Pafos is proud to be a member of EMERGE, a European University Alliance that unites nine universities across eight countries. Together, we work to empower Europe’s geographical and social margins through education, research, and community engagement.

About EMERGE

EMERGE (Empowering the Margins of Europe through Regional and Global Engagement) is part of the European Universities Initiative of the European Commission and funded by the Erasmus+ programme. The Alliance brings together universities from the geographical and socio-economic margins of Europe. We are committed to building inclusive, accessible, and sustainable ecosystems that co-create knowledge and opportunity with and for marginalised communities.

Our Values

  • Inclusion – equal opportunities for all students and staff.
  • Solidarity – building partnerships that strengthen our communities.
  • Sustainability – shaping resilient and environmentally responsible campuses.
  • Resilience – supporting wellbeing and adaptability in a changing world.
  • Plurilingualism & Multiculturalism – embracing Europe’s linguistic and cultural diversity.

Opportunities for Students and Staff

  • Mobility: short-term, hybrid, virtual, and physical mobility across all partner universities.
  • Research & Innovation: joint projects addressing regional and European challenges.
  • Cultural & Language Learning: access to plurilingual environments, regional language initiatives, and intercultural events.
  • Campus Life: inclusive, sustainable, and resilient learning spaces.
  • EMERGE Hubs: from 2026, each campus will host a Hub where students and staff can co-create projects, share ideas, and connect with the Alliance.

EMERGE brings together nine universities with diverse profiles but a shared mission:
