Presentation/Lecture to 2nd and 3rd year pupils of the Lyceum and Technical School of Polis Chrysochous has taken place, with guest speaker, the Dean of the School of Architecture, Engineering, Land and Environmental Sciences of Neapolis University Pafos, Professor Solon Xenopoulos.
On Tuesday 19/02/2019, in the context of the Professional Information Programme, a presentation/lecture to 2nd and 3rd year pupils of the Lyceum and Technical School of Polis Chrysochous has taken place, with speaker the Dean of the School of Architecture, Engineering, Land and Environmental Sciences of Neapolis University Pafos, Professor Solon Xenopoulos.
Professor Xenopoulos developed his speech along four fundamental entities as follows:
a) Presentation of the essential role of Architecture as the practice which is responsible for the formation of the space where societies are constituted and stressing Architectures social role.
b) Explanation of the terminology and distinction between Architecture and Civil Engineering, in terms of each ones specific professional and scientific aspect.
c)Description of the organization and structure of Architectural studies, both in terms of the professional prospects and demands, as well of the significance of these studies in respect of the overall cultural development and cultural background of the students of Architecture.
Explanation of the structure of Architectural studies in respect of their academic and professional characteristics.
d)Reference to the specific scientific disciplines and professional groups, which cooperate in the study and supervision of buildings and other structures.
