Visit of the EMERGE Programme Manager from the University of Limerick to strengthen the alliance cooperation

On October 6, 2025, Neapolis University Pafos welcomed Professor Colin Fitzpatrick, Programme Manager at the University of Limerick and Leader of Work Package 1 (WP1) of the EMERGE European University Alliance. He was accompanied by Ms. Josephine Page, Director of International Education at the University of Limerick.

During the visit, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at Neapolis University Pafos, Professor Savvas A. Chatzichristofis, guided Professor Fitzpatrick on a tour of the university’s facilities and presented Neapolis’ activities and priorities within the EMERGE Alliance.

A dedicated working meeting followed with the Neapolis EMERGE team, including representatives from all local Work Packages. Discussions focused on progress achieved in the first project year, upcoming deliverables, coordination mechanisms between partner universities and University’s role Leader of Work Package 9, which aims to promote visibility, cohesion, and engagement both within and beyond the Alliance.

The meeting also addressed the next phase of joint actions related to mobility, micro-credentials, intercultural learning, and multilingualism, ensuring alignment with EMERGE’s mission to empower Europe’s regional universities and communities.

The visit served as an important step toward strengthening collaboration between Neapolis University Pafos and the coordinating institution, the University of Limerick, as well as deepening ties among the nine universities that form the EMERGE Alliance.

Through its active participation in EMERGE, Neapolis University Pafos reaffirms its commitment to inclusion, sustainability, and social engagement, contributing to the empowerment of Europe’s regional universities and communities.
