Neapolis University Pafos was represented by Dr Natia Anastasi, Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, and Dr Evanthia Dova, Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences, at the 5th face-to-face partner meeting of the Interreg Euro-MED project “RECinMED: A multitude of inclusive Renewable Energy Communities in the Mediterranean Region”, held on 11–12 February 2026 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The project is implemented under the Interreg Euro-MED programme and brings together universities, organisations, and municipalities from across the Mediterranean region. The consortium includes School Center Velenje (SI), ENERGIES 2050 (FR), AREANATejo (PT), NGO ASSO (IT), Argonauta (HR), PI RERA S.D. (HR), the University of Bologna (IT), and the municipalities of Granada (ES), Smolyan (BG), and Derventa (BA).
The Neapolis University Pafos research team also includes Dr Ioannis A. Pissourios, Associate Professor, Dr Georgios D. Pavlidis, Associate Professor at the School of Law, and Dr Georgios Sklias, Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Business.
RECinMED focuses on testing solutions that strengthen the creation and operation of Renewable Energy Communities in the Mediterranean. Partners are organised into three Working Groups focusing on urban areas, rural areas, and islands.
During the meeting, partners reviewed the progress of the Pilot Actions in Granada, Gavião, Smolyan, and Šolta. They also defined the evaluation framework, aiming to facilitate the transfer and replication of results in other Mediterranean regions.
Through its participation in RECinMED, Neapolis University Pafos contributes to European initiatives that connect research, energy transition, and community engagement.
