Participation in the international course “Integration of a Gender Perspective in CSDP”

The Department of History, Politics and International Studies of Neapolis University Pafos participated in the Integration of a Gender Perspective in CSDP training course, which was organised by the Cyprus Security and Defence Academy of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus in collaboration with the European Security and Defence College. The Department of History, Politics and International Studies was represented by Dr. Mersilia Anastasiadou, lecturer in Diplomacy and International Relations and Dr. Eleni Gavriil, lecturer in International Economic Law and Human Rights.

The course was held in Larnaka, Cyprus between 28 and 30 September 2022 and aimed at providing the tools and skills for integrating a gender perspective and achieving gender equality in the fields of security and defence.

The objectives of the course were fully in line with the research interests and the programs of the Department that include a BSc in International Relations and Security and an MSc in International Relations, Strategy and Security.  Additionally, the philosophy of the course reflected the priorities of the University concerning gender equality, continuous education and the link of the University with national and international authorities and organisations.
