On Thursday 13 October 2022, The Honorable Minister of Defense, of the Republic of Cyprus, His Excellency Charalambos Petridis, welcomed in a scheduled official meeting the Rector of Neapolis University Pafos, Professor Pantelis Sklias at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus.
The meeting was attended from the Ministerial side among others, by the head of the Ministry of Defense’ Military Academy for Security and Defense Mr. Symeon Zambas, but also collaborating members of the Ministry of Defense and related departments, while from the side of Neapolis University Pafos, it was attended by the Head of Department of History, Politics and International Studies, Associate Professor of International Security and Strategy, Dr. Marios Panagiotis Efthymiopoulos.
His Excellency the Minister of Defense was informed about the current and planned Study Programmes of Neapolis University Pafos, the Schools, Departments but also emerging infrastructural and institutional plans. In relations to the Ministry of Defense the discussions included talks in studies and research at the level of our International Affairs studies, such as Strategy and Security, Intelligence Studies, Crisis and Disaster Management, while also Contemporary History Studies and concentrated also on the need for inclusive joint innovation in security and programs of mutual concern.
In specific, the discussion incorporated topics of mutual collaboration and research interests, while also coordination of joint efforts between the two institutions, based on an already agreed protocol of collaboration. Discussions included possible joint research programs, scholarship plans, development programs and joint events of mutual interest at all levels of defense policy needs.
