Rector’s Message to the Students of the Conventional Undergraduate Programs on the Occasion of Completion of Final Examinations

Dear Students,

I contact you on the occasion of the completion of the process of conducting the final exams, but also the completion of the academic year. An admittedly unprecedented and difficult period is coming to an end. Possibly some procedures or actions could have been done in an even more complete way. But let me record what has been achieved, in perfect harmony with the whole of our academic community, the tutors, and, above all, you.

The record is in no way related to the need to show you or ourselves some form of achievement, but only to the need for all of us to know academically and objectively the arguments and the institutional “arsenal” that has been created, so that your degree is not called into question by any institutional bodies. More specifically:

• The entire learning process has been completed as originally planned, safely and within the schedule announced at the beginning of the year.
• In addition, through the qualitative upgrade of your studies and learning tools, such as the use of activities, the enrichment of mid term assessments, the learning process has been further enhanced, which makes our University an important provider of quality education. Your degree is a degree with content that unquestionably meets the standards of the European Qualifications Framework.
• The procedure for the preparation of the final written examinations by the method of open books or oral examinations has been objectified to the maximum possible extent, through provisions that include:
  • Development of exam topics that students can respond to critically that go beyond mere quotation marks.
  • The development of multiple subject groups at the level of small (maximum per 15 students) auditions
  • The oral support of the written text of the final exams in case the grade of the written exam exceeds 30% of the average of the student’s grade
• The provisions of The Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA) regarding all the stages that compose the completion of the learning process, including the final examinations, have been strictly observed.

The Neapolis University Pafos and I personally, through my capacity as President of the Rectors Conference of the Cypriot Universities, took on the responsibility of direct consultation with the institutions of the Republic of Cyprus and the Greek State. I am convinced that we have all, together, met the quality requirements set for the smooth completion of your studies and the awarding to you of a degree whose validity and quality of content cannot be questioned.

At the same time, however, our University continued to grow and expand the academic and professional horizons of its graduates. Among many others:

• The University became a full member of the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education;
• The Postgraduate Program in Digital Marketing has been certified by the Digital Marketing Institute and its graduates are Certified Digital Marketing Associates;
• The Undergraduate Program in Civil Engineering and the Undergraduate Program in Applied Informatics were recognized by the European Confederation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI);
• New programs have been certified and are now offered in conventional and distance learning form, in Greek and English and which you can see on the website of our University;
• Apprenticeship and practical training is now fully incorporated into the learning process;
• Simulation and role-playing games have been integrated into courses;

Dear Students,

It is important for us in the coming period to act as “our ambassadors”. Transfer to parents, acquaintances and friends that Neapolis University Pafos is a University to study with academic and physical SAFETY!
