On Wednesday 17.09.2020, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Neapolis University in Cyprus and the Office of the Commissioner of Volunteerism and Non-Governmental Organizations, by Professor Pantelis Sklias, Rector of the University and Mr. Yiannis Giannakis, Commissioner.
The signing of this agreement further deepens Neapolis University’s contribution to civil society.
In particular, through the institutional framework of the Memorandum, the University contributes to the provision of scholarships in distance learning programmes in consultation with the office of the Commissioner.
It cooperates with the Office of the Commissioner on the integration of active civil society issues in the Curricula of its study programmes, as well as in the introduction of students’ placement in Non-Governmental Organizations.
The modern approach to matters of society, and the innovative research and cutting-edge knowledge produced by the academic community of Neapolis University Pafos, combined with the institutional capacity and important initiatives of the Commissioner of Volunteering and Non-Governmental Organizations, is expected to significantly enhance local development and overall social progress of the civil society of the Republic of Cyprus.
