Neapolis University Pafos hosted the 22nd European, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Conference on Information Systems (EMCIS 2025)

Neapolis University Pafos hosted the 22nd EMCIS on 11–12 September 2025. Scholars and professionals in Information Systems engaged in focused discussions across Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Digital Governance, Information Security and Blockchain. Established in 2004 by the ISEing research group at Brunel University, EMCIS has become a key international venue for collaboration in Information Systems.

A highlight was the keynote by Professor Herodotos Herodotou, “Hyper-Distributed Intelligent Computing in the Cloud-Edge-IoT Continuum.” The industry panel “Autonomous Futures: Architecting Trust, Intelligence, and Resilience Across the Algorithmic Frontier” also drew strong interest, featuring speakers from JetBrains, Grant Thornton and BeepXtra.

Sessions addressed the technological, organizational, business and social dimensions of Information Systems. Contributions spanned Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Machine Learning, Digital Governance, Blockchain, Digital Services and Social Media, Green IT, Information Security and Privacy, and Emerging Technologies in Policing and Security. The programme included two workshops, “myAutoML for AI Assisted Data Mining and Systematic Literature Review” and “Immersive Journalism” with a 360° demo. The event closed with positive feedback and productive discussions toward future collaborations.
