Collaboration between Neapolis University and Abbass Ajami Architects

On July 17th, the School of Architecture, Mechanics and Geo-Environmental Sciences of the Neapolis University in Cyprus signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Abbass Ajami Architects. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. Solon Xenopoulos, Dean of the School of Architecture, Mechanics and Geo-Environmental Sciences, on behalf of the Neapolis University and Mr. Abbass Ajami, architect and owner of Abbass Ajami Architects.

Abbass Ajami Architects is a company of architectural offices based in Pafos with operating projects in Germany and Lebanon. Through their projects, Abbass Ajami Architects show sensitivity to sustainability and environmental issues, as evidenced by innovative renewable energy solutions, such as the creation of a new generation of over-efficient wind turbines and new forms of investment systems that collect solar energy.

The Memorandum of Understanding provides student placements at Abbass Ajami Architects facilities in accordance with the European Project “Liaison Offices with the labour market” and at the same time promotes joint actions with the School of Architecture, Mechanics and Geo-Environmental Sciences of the Neapolis University. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding promotes the common understanding of the two sides for connecting the business world with academic activity and adapting curricula to the modern and future needs of the market.

During the meeting, future challenges of architecture and engineering were analyzed. Both Mr Xenopoulos and Mr Ajami agreed on the need for the university community to precede developments and challenges and always respond to today’s needs.

The Neapolis University in Cyprus, through the Memorandum of Understanding, welcomes Abbass Ajami Architects to its growing network of associates, which consolidates the role of the Neapolis University in Cyprus as part of development and progress.
