Educational Student field Trip and Studio in Rome: Bachelor Program of Architecture and Master’s Program in Landscape Architecture of Neapolis University in Cyprus

The students of the Master’s  Program in Landscape Architecture as well as the 3rd year students from the Bachelor’s program of Architecture, participated in the educational field trip in Rome with guidance from Dr. Julia Georgi, Head of The Department of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences.

The students had the chance to be toured by prof. Carlo Brusci, Sapienza University and professional representative of IFLA (International Federation of Landscape Architects) at 12 different monuments of the historical centre of Rome as: HOMELAND ALTAR AND MONUMENT TO THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER, TRAIANO’S COLUMN, THE CAPITOLIUM, ROMAN FORUM, ARGENTINA SQUARE SACRED GROUND, ST. MARY OVER MINERVA BASILICA, PANTHEON, ST. IVO AT THE SAPIENZA CHURCH, NAVONA SQUARE, CHIGI PALACE (MONTECITORIO), MARCO AURELIO COLUMN, and TREVI FOUNTAIN.

The students also visited the well-known Villa Adrianne and Villa D’Este at Tivoli, where they participated in an educational landscape design lab from Dr. Julia Georgi and the Architect and Landscape Architect Cristina Musacchio.

Finally the students visited Buildings of Modern Architecture assisted by the Architect and Landscape Architect Cristina Musacchio.

They also paid a visit at the AUDITORIUM PARCO DELLA MUSICA designed by the Architect Renzo Piano, where they were toured by Dr. Annalisa Ruocco Architect and PhD in Environmental Design, the PALAZZETTO DELLO SPORT (1960 Summer Olympics Games) designed by  architect  Annibale Vitellozzi and its reinforced thin-shell concrete dome was engineered by Pier Luigi Nervi. MAXXI MUSEUM the first national museum of contemporary art designed by Zaha Hadid. The students also visited the PONTE DELLA MUSICA bridge, that has been designed to serve as an open public space that can be used for festivals, exhibitions and fairs and also has the future facility to operate as a tram and bus route and ACCADEMIA DI SCHERMA designed by Luigi Moretti.
