A large, youthful and vibrant crowd gathered at ANANAs 8Bit Café at the Old Market of upper Paphos, to enjoy an evening that highlighted both the academic and commercial aspects of the Cinema World.
Film Director Jason Georgiades (DVP Director) and Dr. Charalambos Charalambous (DVP coordinator) hosted an open discussion in relation to Film Production in Cyprus, showcased student work by current MA students Aris Stephanis and Petros Artemis, who were both in attendance to discuss their work with the audience. Panayiota Michael analyzed unique advantages of digital video for marketing and research purposes.
The evening closed with a special guest, President of Director’s Guild Cyprus, Daina Papadakis. A selected screening of her films was followed by a lively Q&A session in relation to her film-making work.
Program Director Jason Georgiades noted: “it was a fantastic night that set the tone for what the Digital Video Production Program is all about: cultural diversity, strong academic ideas and progressive, thought provoking cinema.”
