NEAPOLIS UNIVERSITY PAFOS: VISIT OF THE ATTICA REGION SECRETARY GENERAL MR. GEORGIOS PATOULIS

On Tuesday 30.11.2021, a meeting was held at the premises of Neapolis University Pafos between the Attica region Secretary General Mr. Georgios Patoulis, accompanied by Mr. Phaedon Phaedonos, Mayor of Paphos and Dr. Antonios Polydorou, Professor of Medicine and Secretary of the World Hippocratic Institute of Physicians and the Rectorate and Administration of the University, represented by Mr. George Leptos, Chairman of the Board and Mr. Andreas Moleskis, Director of Administration and Finance.

During the visit, the University’s authorities had the opportunity to inform Mr. Patoulis regarding the more than ten years of diverse and multifaceted activity and contribution of Neapolis University Pafos to the academic community as well as the strong ties of support and development with the local government and citizens society.

Furthermore, in the context of the University’s contribution, its ability and will to provide a number of scholarships to the Attica Region with socio-economic criteria in accordance with the University’s scholarship regulations was mentioned.

Special mention was made of the strengthening of research activity and the production of new innovative applied knowledge by the University’s academic community, through participation in international research and development programs through synergies and collaborations with important scientific, academic and professional European Organisations and continuous contribution to the scientific dialogue in the area of Higher Education.

Finally, there was extensive briefing on the development effort and implementation of the strategic objectives of Neapolis University Pafos in the direction of connecting the Curricula and its student community with the labour market, adapting to the new conditions of the 4th Industrial Revolution and pioneering at the forefront of knowledge with existing, but also new fields of study and Curricula, through the establishment and operation of the Neapolis Eco Smart City.
